On 23 July 2026, HKICEC in collaboration with WorldFirst held the professional seminar titled “From Trade to Retail: Unlocking New Cross‑Border Growth” at the Ballroom of Nina Hotel Kowloon East.
The seminar drew strong interest, with HKICEC leadership attending in person, including Chairman Jacky Tse, Executive Chairman Guo Shaohui, Executive President Jeffy Wang, Chief Secretary Jacky Chen, Deputy President Dick Cheung, Deputy Secretary Luo Yaohong, Directors Wu Zhiwei, Thomas Wu, Lu Dabin and Executive Director Sally Fong. Mu Xin, General Manager of China Business at WorldFirst, also led a delegation to join the seminar. Nearly one hundred member enterprises took part, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere throughout the event.

The seminar opened with remarks from Chief Secretary Jacky Chen, representing HKICEC. He noted that although HKICEC is a young association, it has already achieved meaningful progress. He announced that in October, HKICEC will launch a major initiative—the first “HKICEC Global Mobile Exchange Pavilion” in Asia at the Global Sources Mobile Electronics Show—and expressed sincere appreciation for WorldFirst’s strong support. He added that HKICEC looks forward to continued, in‑depth collaboration to further advance Hong Kong’s cross‑border communications sector.

Mu Xin, General Manager of WorldFirst’s China Business, then addressed the audience. She noted that communication electronics remain a key pillar of Hong Kong’s foreign trade and a driving force behind the global rise of Chinese manufacturing. She acknowledged that HKICEC members face both opportunities and challenges in expanding overseas. WorldFirst’s global account services—covering multiple markets, platforms and the full outbound chain—provide secure and compliant support to help enterprises integrate into local markets more efficiently. She expressed strong confidence in the partnership with HKICEC and affirmed that WorldFirst is well‑positioned to offer a solid support plan for members expanding internationally.

The seminar brought together several senior experts in cross‑border operations. Representatives from WorldFirst and other industry sectors delivered practical presentations covering global market trends, opportunities and risks in overseas expansion, and efficient solutions for cross‑border capital flow. The session was designed to directly address the everyday operational challenges faced by member enterprises.

The Q&A session saw enthusiastic participation, with member enterprises raising questions about their operational challenges. Many expressed hopes that WorldFirst could offer exclusive preferential plan for HKICEC members to create win‑win outcomes between industry development and financial services. General Manager Mu Xin affirmed that WorldFirst will tailor member benefits based on transaction needs, providing practical support to help HKICEC enterprises reduce costs and improve efficiency in cross‑border operations.

The joint seminar concluded successfully. HKICEC will continue partnering with leading industry organizations to deliver more high‑quality empowerment programs, further strengthening resource‑matching and knowledge‑sharing platforms for all members. We extend our sincere thanks to everyone for their participation and steadfast support.
